Teaching Assignments by HEI Teaching Staff and by Invited Staff from Enterprises

European Humanities University (EHU) welcomes academic and administrative staff from partner institutions for Erasmus+ teaching and training visits. Visits provide opportunities to exchange expertise, develop professional skills and strengthen institutional cooperation.

Teaching visits

Visiting teaching staff may deliver lectures, seminars and other teaching activities agreed with the relevant EHU academic department.

Teaching mobility normally requires an Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement between the sending institution and EHU covering the relevant activity.

The minimum teaching workload is 8 hours per week or for any shorter period. When teaching and training are combined within a single mobility period, the minimum teaching workload is 4 hours per week or for any shorter period. For visits lasting longer than one week, the teaching workload for an incomplete week is calculated proportionally.

Staff from enterprises and other eligible organisations may also be invited to teach at EHU under the applicable Erasmus+ project conditions. No minimum teaching workload applies to invited staff from enterprises.

Training visits

Academic and administrative staff may participate in job shadowing, practical training and exchanges of professional experience relevant to their work.

The objectives, activities and expected outcomes must be agreed with the relevant EHU department or unit before the visit. Conference attendance alone is not eligible as Erasmus+ staff training.

Duration

Under the general Erasmus+ rules:

  • Mobility between EU Member States and countries associated with the Programme lasts 2–60 days, excluding travel days.
  • Mobility involving third countries not associated with the Programme lasts 5–60 days, excluding travel days.
  • For invited staff from enterprises, the minimum duration is 1 day for mobility between EU Member States and countries associated with the Programme, and 5 days for mobility involving third countries not associated with the Programme.

The minimum required days must be consecutive. The actual visit dates and funded duration depend on the applicable project conditions, available funding and agreement with EHU.

How to arrange your visit

Before making travel arrangements, contact the Student Service and International Mobility Unit at international@ehu.lt. Please provide:

  • your name, position and sending institution;
  • the proposed type and objectives of the visit;
  • your preferred dates;
  • the EHU department, unit or colleague you would like to work with, if known;
  • a proposed teaching or training programme.

Acceptance depends on the availability of the relevant EHU department or unit and the applicable partnership and project conditions.

Before the visit, a Mobility Agreement for Teaching or Training must be agreed and signed by the participant, the sending organisation and EHU. An invitation letter can be issued once the visit has been approved.

Funding and practical arrangements

Participants should normally apply for Erasmus+ funding through their sending institution. Where funding is administered by EHU under a specific project, the applicable conditions will be communicated individually. Acceptance of a visit does not automatically guarantee funding.

Participants are responsible for arranging travel, accommodation, appropriate insurance and any visa or other entry documents required for their stay. EHU can provide information and supporting documents within its remit.

Please inform us in advance of any accessibility or support needs so that appropriate arrangements can be discussed.

After the visit

EHU provides confirmation of the completed teaching or training activities and the actual dates of participation, excluding travel days. Participants must complete the reporting requirements communicated by their sending institution or the organisation administering their grant.
