International Erasmus+ traineeships enrich students’ education, provide practical experience and support their integration into today’s global and rapidly changing labour market. They broaden students’ perspectives, help them connect their studies with their future careers and strengthen their CVs. The European Humanities University aims to offer its students a wide range of international traineeship opportunities.
An Erasmus+ traineeship is a period spent at a company or organisation abroad in a country participating in the Erasmus+ programme. It enables students to adapt to labour market requirements, strengthen their professional skills and gain a deeper understanding of the host country’s economy, society and culture.
Students selected through a competitive process and awarded an Erasmus+ grant may undertake a traineeship lasting 2–6 months, subject to the committee’s approval, in any EU country, as well as Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Türkiye, Serbia, Switzerland or North Macedonia.
Erasmus+ student traineeships take place during the student’s studies.
Students enrolled in full-time and full-time session-based study programmes may apply, provided that they have used no more than 10 months of Erasmus+ study or traineeship mobility during their current study cycle, or 22 months for students in integrated study programmes.
Important for non-EU citizens
Before departing for Erasmus+ studies or a traineeship, students must obtain a temporary or permanent residence permit in Lithuania.
Special Conditions
Students may undertake a traineeship during academic leave, but only if they were selected for participation before the leave began.
Traineeship Duration
Traineeships last between 2 and 4 months and may be extended without an Erasmus+ grant. The workload must be at least 120 and no more than 160 hours per month. A total of 40 working hours is equivalent to 1.5 ECTS credits.
Important: a traineeship must not begin or end on a weekend or public holiday.
Recognition of the Traineeship
An Erasmus+ traineeship may be recognised as a curricular traineeship, recorded in the Diploma Supplement and awarded ECTS credits in accordance with the University’s regulations.
Erasmus+ recent graduate traineeships offer students the opportunity to undertake a traineeship after graduation. Final-year students enrolled in full-time or full-time session-based programmes at bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral level may apply.
Students must be selected before graduation. The traineeship may begin only after graduation (the date the diploma is awarded) and must be completed within one year of graduation or before starting a new study programme.
