The project “Recording the Belarus–Lithuania Border Conflict” aimed to document the experiences of individuals who entered Lithuania from Belarus during the 2021 migration crisis by collecting audio interviews for further research. The project aimed to further develop the digital corpus Zemelah.online, dedicated to Soviet Jewish ego-documents, including memoirs, diaries, autobiographies, and correspondence. By collecting, indexing, and making these narratives searchable online, the initiative sought to preserve and present the diverse experiences of Soviet Jews while providing an open resource for students, researchers, and the wider public. The Digital Humanities Laboratory project aimed to strengthen the integration of artificial intelligence into humanities and social sciences teaching and research at EHU. The OSUN Threatened Scholars Integration Initiative 2023–2025 supported scholars at risk from Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia whose academic work and professional opportunities were affected by political repression and the war against Ukraine. The project provided residential and дистанционные fellowships, enabling researchers to continue academic work, participate in conferences, publish research, and integrate into the EHU academic community.The initiative also strengthened international academic cooperation through the conference “Grand Duchy of Lithuania: Unity in Diversity” and the summer school “Transnational Challenges to National History Writing,” bringing together researchers and students from across Europe to discuss transnational history, heritage, and contemporary historiography. The project additionally contributed to the development of EHU’s new History BA programme and supported the preservation of academic networks and scholarly dialogue in the region. |
