Project Activities Overview

Project-based activities have for many years constituted an important part of the University’s academic life and institutional development. This section aims to present the projects implemented during the 2023–2026 period, highlighting their thematic directions and significance.

Between 2023 and 2026, a total of 60 project applications were submitted for funding. Of these, 18 applications were not awarded funding, while decisions on an additional 6 applications submitted during the 2025–2026 period are still pending. Among the funded initiatives, 32 projects have already been completed, 3 are currently under implementation, and the implementation of 1 project was discontinued.

During the 2023–2026 period, the University implemented 26 externally funded projects and 6 internally funded projects.

An analysis of completed and ongoing projects reveals several key thematic areas that reflect the University’s strategic priorities and academic profile. The projects cover the fields of democracy and human rights, socio-technological transformations, civic engagement, research and artistic activities, as well as studies and education. The largest share of projects is dedicated to strengthening democracy and human rights, which is closely aligned with the University’s mission and operational context. A significant proportion of initiatives also focuses on research and professional artistic activities, contributing to the development of academic output and creative practice.

In addition, a growing share of socio-technological projects demonstrates increasing attention to digital transformations, innovation, and the role of technology in society. At the same time, projects in the areas of studies and education, as well as civic engagement, complement the overall spectrum of project activities by strengthening the University’s impact on both the academic community and wider society.

The thematic diversity of the projects is complemented by a broad financial range. During the analysed period, the budgets of implemented and ongoing projects ranged from small-scale initiatives (approximately EUR 1,000–10,000) to larger, strategically significant projects valued at several tens or even hundreds of thousands of euros. This includes larger-scale international projects with budgets exceeding EUR 300,000–600,000.
