EHU Staff Member Enhances AI and Digital Transformation Skills at the University of Gdańsk

From 8 to 12 June 2026, Karina Basiul, a staff member of the EHU Academic Support Center, participated in the Erasmus+ International Staff Week titled “AI Won’t Replace You. Someone Using AI Will”, organised by the University of Gdańsk in Poland.

The programme focused on developing the knowledge and practical skills required to understand, critically evaluate, and responsibly use artificial intelligence technologies in higher education and academic research. Through training sessions, interactive workshops, and practical activities, participants explored AI-supported tools, workflow automation, and innovative approaches to teaching, research, and university administration.

The mobility contributed to strengthening Karina’s professional competencies in digital transformation and artificial intelligence. It also provided practical methods and ideas that can be adapted and applied within the Academic Support Center and other areas of EHU’s work.

An important part of the programme was the exchange of experience and best practices with colleagues from international higher education institutions. These discussions helped expand professional networks, strengthen cooperation with partner universities, and support the broader digital transformation and internationalisation of higher education.

The programme also included cultural activities, visits to local museums, and opportunities to discover the city of Gdańsk.

Participation in the Staff Week is expected to contribute to the further development of AI-supported workflows at EHU, enhance staff digital competencies, and encourage the responsible and effective use of artificial intelligence technologies in teaching, research, and administration.

Karina Basiul expresses her sincere gratitude to the organisers for their warm welcome, engaging programme, valuable professional exchange, and inspiring experience.
