EHU Business Law Clinic Visit
This week, the Academic Department of Social Sciences and EHU are hosting a U.S. delegation for an intensive three-day visit within the framework of the EHU Business Law Clinic initiative. The visit is supported by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) and funded by the U.S. Department of State.
The visit began with a meeting with the Rector, Dr. Vilius Šadauskas, followed by working sessions with the team of the Academic Department of Social Sciences, led by the Head of the Department, Associate Professor Dr. Ingrida Danėlė-Žalimienė.
The delegation brings together EHU academics, representatives of the U.S. Department of Commerce – Mr. Stephen Gardner and Mr. Levi Latoz – and legal scholars from leading American law schools: Carlos M. Teuscher, Associate Clinical Professor at Boston College Law School; Darryl Walton, Associate Clinical Professor and Director of the Community Business Clinic at Northeastern University School of Law; and Patricia Alejandro, Clinical Instructor at Harvard Law School.
The purpose of the visit is to establish and develop a joint legal clinic program between EHU’s Academic Department of Social Sciences and its Business School. This initiative aims to support the future joint operation of the Business Law Clinic, promote practical legal education, and strengthen collaboration in educational and research activities. It will also enable the academic community to contribute more effectively to the needs of society. Overall, this partnership represents an important step toward enhancing legal education at EHU and expanding opportunities for the academic community.
