The Supreme Court of Belarus has declared the European Humanities University an “extremist organization”

On 14 April 2026, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus ruled to designate the European Humanities University, established in Lithuania, together with its structural units, as an extremist organization, and to ban its activities, as well as the use of its symbols and attributes within Belarus.
EHU is an international academic community of students, faculty, and researchers united by the values of open dialogue, knowledge, and freedom of expression. The University continues its
activities in accordance with these principles and remains a space for education and development.
