European Humanities University Participates in the First Global Student Cybersecurity Competition

European Humanities University joined an international network of universities for the first Global Student Capture the Flag (CTF) competition, held online on October 10, 2026. The event brought together students from leading higher education institutions across five countries, providing an opportunity to demonstrate their technical knowledge, develop practical cybersecurity skills, and engage with the international academic community.

Organized by SET University (Ukraine) in collaboration with IronCyber, the competition gathered 64 participants representing 15 teams from the United States, Ireland, Lithuania, Sweden, and Ukraine.

The Global Student CTF challenged participants to apply their knowledge of critical thinking, and problem-solving in a series of practical tasks inspired by real-world digital security challenges. The competition emphasized hands-on experience, teamwork, and the ability to develop effective solutions in complex technological environments.

EHU participated alongside internationally recognized institutions, including Georgetown University, Purdue University, the University of Galway, Blekinge Institute of Technology, and several other universities.

Securing fourth place among 15 international teams represents a significant achievement for EHU and demonstrates the University’s growing potential in technology education. It reflects EHU’s commitment to fostering an innovative learning environment, encouraging students to apply their academic knowledge in practice, and expanding opportunities for international academic exchange.

The competition also highlights the growing importance of interdisciplinary education and practical digital competencies in preparing students for the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

European Humanities University congratulates the winning teams from South East Technological University (Ireland), Georgetown University (USA), and Technological University Dublin (Ireland), and extends its appreciation to SET University and IronCyber for organizing this international initiative.

EHU looks forward to further opportunities for its students to participate in international technology competitions, develop professional skills, and connect with peers and experts from around the world.
