EHU Welcomed a Guest from Maqsut Narikbayev University under the Erasmus+ Programme

European Humanities University welcomed Merey Akhmetova, Exchange Programmes Manager at Maqsut Narikbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan, for a staff mobility visit under the Erasmus+ programme. The visit took place from 6 to 10 July 2026 and focused on international mobility, student support, and cooperation between partner universities.

During the visit, EHU colleagues and the guest discussed current trends in working with international students, approaches to supporting incoming and outgoing mobility participants, and cooperation between international offices, faculties, and other university units. The meetings also provided an opportunity to exchange best practices, discuss common challenges, and explore further possibilities to expand cooperation between EHU and Maqsut Narikbayev University.

As part of the programme, Merey Akhmetova met with the coordinator of EHU’s Law programme. During the meeting, the participants discussed the current cooperation between the universities, potential areas for academic collaboration, and future plans to develop student and staff mobility, joint activities, and professional exchanges in the field of law.

The guest also visited EHU study programmes and delivered a presentation about Maqsut Narikbayev University, introducing its academic profile, international activities, and opportunities for future collaboration. The visit helped strengthen the partnership between EHU and MNU and opened new perspectives for developing academic connections between Central Asia and Europe.

Maqsut Narikbayev University, founded in 1994, is a leading private higher education institution located in Astana, Kazakhstan. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes through its five schools: the School of Liberal Arts, the International School of Economics, the International School of Journalism, MNU Business School, and MNU Law School. With its strong focus on law, business, social sciences, and internationalisation, MNU is an important Erasmus+ partner for EHU.

The visit was an important step toward enhancing institutional cooperation, sharing experience in international mobility management, and identifying new opportunities for student and staff exchanges, joint activities, and the development of long-term partnerships.
