Open Guest Lecture at the European Humanities University “The Hands-On Investigation into the Fate of Raoul Wallenberg”

The European Humanities University (EHU) is honored to host a public lecture by Professor Marvin William Makinen of the University of Chicago and Mr. Ari David Kaplan, renowned for their long-standing research into the fate of Raoul Wallenberg and the historical records of Vladimir Prison in Russia.

This week, Professor Marvin William Makinen of the University of Chicago and Mr. Ari David Kaplan will visit Lithuania to donate to the Genocide and Resistance Research Centre of Lithuania copies of documents in their possession. These documents contain personal records of individuals imprisoned in Vladimir Prison (Russia) before and after World War II — among them, persons from Lithuania such as President Antanas Stulginskis, Prime Minister Antanas Merkys and his family, Minister of Justice Stasys Šilingas, Archbishop Mečislovas Reinys, and others — as well as from Latvia and Estonia. The donation will also include a computer program developed by Mr. Ari D. Kaplan based on this data.

During their visit, a lecture at the European Humanities University will be held, where Professor Marvin William Makinen and Mr Ari D. Kaplan will present the results of their research into this evidence, share their personal experiences and insights, and answer questions from the audience.
