During the programme of the visit of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the Ukrainian delegation met with Lithuanian institutions to learn more about Lithuania’s experience in development cooperation, inter-institutional coordination, project implementation, and cooperation with European Union and multilateral instruments.
At European Humanities University, Rector Šadauskas presented the university’s history, mission, and current activities. The discussion focused on EHU’s unique story of relocation, its role as a university with Belarusian roots, and its continued contribution to supporting independent Belarusian civil society.

While EHU remains deeply connected to its Belarusian history and mission, it is becoming increasingly international in its activities, academic partnerships, and student community.
Special attention was given to EHU’s growing engagement with Ukraine, including opportunities for cooperation in education, academic exchange, and international initiatives. The meeting also highlighted the International Ukrainian School as an important example of educational cooperation and support for Ukrainian students and communities.
The Ukrainian delegation included Kira Spyrydonova, Director of the Directorate General for Economic Diplomacy and Recovery at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; Maksym Kravchuk, Director of the Office for International Financial Institutions and Economic Organisations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; Sofiia Ihnatenko, Chief Specialist of the Recovery, Investment and Innovation Division of the Directorate General for Economic Diplomacy and Recovery at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; and Olena Demchenko, Chief Specialist of the Division for Cooperation with International Financial Organisations of the Department for International Cooperation and European Integration at the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.

It also reflected the university’s long-term ambition to develop as a strong international institution with a distinctive Belarusian history and a growing regional role.
