This marks the first granting of the Renatas Juška Nominal Scholarship. The scholarship was established during the commemoration of 20 years of EHU’s relocation and continued activity in Lithuania. Renatas Juška made a significant contribution through his dedicated diplomatic support and commitment to the University’s development.
Renatas Juška (1972 – 2019) was one of the most prominent Lithuanian diplomats, involved in the country’s key diplomatic missions. He served as the extraordinary and plenipotentiary Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, Advisor to the Lithuanian Embassy in Belarus from 2000 to 2003, Advisor at the Department of Foreign Policy Analysis and Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania from 2003 to 2006, Director of the Department of Development Cooperation and Democracy Support from 2006 to 2009, and held other diplomatic positions. Renatas Juška’s efforts and dedication were crucial for the European Humanities University during its relocation and the development of its activities in Lithuania.
The nominal Renatas Juška scholarship was awarded on a competitive basis to EHU students who actively participate in the activities of civil organizations or (and) develop scientific research, social, cultural, and other projects related to the field of Lithuania-Belarus relations.
The scholarship is funded through a special scholarship fund established to honor his memory and support student initiatives aligned with his legacy. By awarding this scholarship, EHU recognizes outstanding student achievement and reaffirms its commitment to fostering academic excellence, civic engagement, and cross-border dialogue.
