Dr. Mantas Adomėnas Unanimously Elected Chairman of the EHU Governing Board

During September 24 session, the EHU Governing Board unanimously elected Dr. Mantas Adomėnas as Chairman.

Previously serving as a member of the Governing Board, Dr.  M. Adomėnas is a distinguished public figure and policymaker with broad experience in academia, public administration, and international organizations. Educated in the classical tradition at Vilnius University and the University of Cambridge, he served as a Member of the Lithuanian Parliament from 2008 to 2020 and as Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania from 2021 to 2023. Dr. M. Adomėnas was among the architects of Lithuania’s 2009 higher education reform and the author of the 2010 national strategy for diaspora engagement “Global Lithuania”. His extensive expertise spans culture, education, research, foreign affairs, migration policy, national security, human rights, and related areas. He currently serves as Secretary General of the Community of Democracies, an intergovernmental organization encompassing 30 member states.

At this important moment for the university, Dr. M. Adomėnas’ leadership of the Governing Board carries exceptional significance and provides renewed momentum for EHU’s academic and institutional development.
