The meeting took place at European Humanities University and brought together senior representatives from both institutions. From EHU, participants included Rector Dr. Vilius Šadauskas, Olga Rancova, Senior Manager for Academic (Artistic) Activities, Dr. Ingrida Danėlė-Žalimienė, Head of the Department of Social Sciences, and Associate Professor Aliaksei Makhnach, Head of the Academic Department of Humanities and Arts. Mykolas Romeris University was represented by Rector Prof. Inga Žalėnienė and Vice-Rector for Studies Prof. Dr. Natalija Kaminskienė.
During the meeting, both universities shared their strategic plans for internationalisation and expressed strong mutual interest in expanding collaborative student activities. Particular attention was given to student-level participation, sustainable cooperation models, and opportunities to enhance academic mobility and joint initiatives.
Everyone presented their visions for future collaboration, emphasising priority academic directions and study programmes, as well as joint research initiatives. The discussion also addressed possibilities for organising local student activities and developing partnerships with Lithuanian ecosystem leaders, including cooperation in game creation and creative industries.
Associate Professor Aliaksei Makhnach presented the study programmes of the Department of Humanities and Arts and highlighted ongoing academic and student activities in the field of game creation, underlining the department’s interdisciplinary approach and its potential for cross-university collaboration.
Ingrida Danėlė-Žalimienė presented EHU’s bachelor’s and master’s programmes, outlining potential areas for programme-level collaboration.Additional areas of discussion included cooperation with the Faculty of Law, the development of gender studies, the establishment of research laboratories, initiatives supporting women in science, and the creation of education and research centres. The universities also considered partnership opportunities focused on educator training, aimed at supporting graduates in pursuing teaching careers.
Mykolas Romeris University shared its plans for new academic programmes and projects, including developments in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) and broader initiatives focused on education-level development.
Both institutions expressed strong interest in sustaining collaboration and continuing discussions on an interdisciplinary level, reaffirming their commitment to building long-term partnerships that benefit students, faculty, and the wider academic community.
The meeting concluded with a shared intention to move forward together and deepen cooperation between the two universities.
