EHU Senate Elects Professor Dr. Jeffrey Taylor as New Chair

The Senate of the European Humanities University (EHU) has elected Professor Dr. Jeffrey Taylor as its new Chair.

The Senate is the University’s collegial academic advisory body, responsible for contributing to strategic academic decisions and ensuring the quality of teaching and research. Its membership comprises two professors, two associate professors, one lecturer, and one assistant lecturer from each academic department, as well as the Heads of Academic Departments, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, the Chancellor, and three student representatives. The Chair of the Senate plays a key role in coordinating the work of this body and representing its academic voice within the University’s governance structure.

Dr. Taylor is a distinguished scholar in the history and theory of art, as well as a practicing artist working in the field of design. His academic and artistic work reflects a strong interdisciplinary approach that bridges critical theory, contemporary culture, and creative practice.

His most recent artistic projects were presented at EHU ART Space during the prestigious Art Vilnius contemporary art fair, further demonstrating his active engagement with the international art community. More information about his artistic work can be found on the Art Vilnius platform.

Dr. Taylor is also the author of the international monograph Art and Business (published by Routledge/Taylor & Francis), which has received significant academic recognition. Notably, during the most recent national evaluation of scientific outputs for 2024, EHU received its highest number of points for this international monograph, underlining both the scholarly excellence of the work and its importance to the University’s research profile.

The University community congratulates Dr. Taylor on his election and looks forward to his leadership in strengthening the academic mission and collegial governance of EHU!
